Service Description
Step into the backcountry with confidence on this 3–4 day women’s backpacking experience in the Uinta Mountains. Designed for beginners and those looking to build real skills, this trip combines hands-on education with a fully guided wilderness experience. Before we hit the trail, you’ll be invited to a series of practical, in-person classes built to eliminate the biggest unknowns and give you skills you will actually use in the field: Backpacking Gear 101 Learn how to choose the right gear without overspending, properly fit and pack your pack, and build a system that is functional, efficient, and comfortable on the trail. Cooking 101 Understand how to plan, prep, and pack meals that are simple, lightweight, and enjoyable. You’ll practice stove use, food systems, and how to stay fueled in the backcountry. Bathroom Essentials Yes, we cover it. Learn how to go to the bathroom in the woods in a way that is clean, comfortable, and low-stress, including Leave No Trace practices and real-world techniques that make a big difference. Critter Caution Get clear on how to safely manage food and camp in areas with wildlife. Learn practical systems for keeping yourself and your food secure from bears, rodents, and other animals. Once in the field, you’ll apply what you’ve learned in real time, supported by experienced guides and medically trained leadership. You’ll gain confidence navigating terrain, setting up camp, managing changing conditions, and making decisions in a backcountry environment. This is more than just a trip. It is a chance to build confidence, develop real competence, and experience the mountains alongside a community of women who are stepping into the outdoors with purpose.
