Service Description
The Wilderness Advanced First Aid course is the ideal entry-level training for outdoor adventurers and professionals who may need to provide patient care when help is delayed for hours or even days. This course emphasizes essential lifesaving skills, patient assessment, field care for common injuries and illnesses, environmental conditions, and effective reporting for rescue assistance. With a minimum of 36 hours of instruction in the United States and 40 hours in Canada (with variations in other countries), the course combines in-class learning through lectures, discussions, patient assessment drills, simulations, case study reviews, and skills labs. Participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to deliver care in challenging situations when immediate help is not available.
Cancellation Policy
Turn Left Adventure & Education Cancellation Policy We understand that plans change, and we strive to be fair and flexible while honoring the time, preparation, and costs that go into each trip. Please review the following cancellation policy carefully. Participant Cancellations More than 30 days before trip start: Full refund minus a $50 administrative fee. 15–30 days before trip start: 50% refund OR full credit toward a future trip within 12 months. 14 days or less: No refund or credit (unless we can fill your spot from the waitlist). Note: If you must cancel due to illness, injury, or family emergency, we will consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Documentation may be required. No-Shows Participants who do not show up without notice will forfeit the full cost of the trip. Trip Cancellations by Turn Left Adventure & Education If we cancel due to weather, safety concerns, insufficient enrollment, or other unforeseen circumstances, participants will be offered: A full refund OR Full credit toward another trip or training within 12 months. We do our best to notify participants at least 7 days in advance for non-emergency cancellations. Weather-related decisions may be made closer to the event for safety.
